Warm Sweater Day

Join us!

In what has become a Raptim tradition, were excited to let you know that this year we will again be taking part in the Warm Sweater Day on the 10th of February.

Warm Sweater Day

Warm sweater day usually takes place around the anniversary of the Kyoto Protocol. It’s a one-day campaign supported by corporations, schools and other like-minded organizations to raise awareness about the international agreement aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and as a result, reduce our collective carbon footprint. Everyone should know about the benefits of renewable energy and the importance of changing our behaviors accordingly around energy consumption.

If we all lower our thermostats by a few degrees, we can help play our part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Turning down our heat supply systems and wearing a sweater is a small action that is symbolic of bigger change. We challenge you all to lower your thermostats at the office or home, and wear your wackiest sweater!

Sharing is caring, so be sure to take a picture and share it with us.

“"We see a lot of suffering on our planet, which is sometimes caused by climate change. That’s why it’s important to contribute to a healthier planet by joining compassionate initiatives such as Warm Sweater Day.” ”

Ramona Kuijpers (Raptim)

As a humanitarian travel organization, we operate in a sector which has relatively high CO2 emissions. Nonetheless, we try to help those traveling to offer support to people in the most socially responsible way. We put great value in achieving a world in which people and organizations, especially travel management companies, try to reduce emissions as much as possible. An excellent example of a sustainable initiative towards a healthier and more sustainable planet is our CO2 compensation.

We applaud initiatives such as Warm Sweater Day, although our offices in Nairobi and Texas might think otherwise. ;-)

“Warm yourself instead of trying to warm the earth”
