Just imagine. Your current situation requires you to flee your country within a matter of hours. You’re just not safe in your own home. If you’re lucky you had some time to pack a bag, but this might not be the case and you could be left with nothing. Fortunately there are many organizations that help refugees. The high-point of the number of refugees since World War II Refugees are people fleeing from conflict or persecution. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of refugees and internally displaced people has reached its highest point since World War II in 2015 with over 60 million refugees. A large percentage of them is fleeing from war-torn Syria. An estimated 11 million Syrians have fled their homes since the outbreak of the war in March 2011. Now, in the sixth year of war, 13.5 million are in need of humanitarian assistance within the country. This is just one of the many examples in which people are forced to flee their home in seek of safe refuge. Fortunately, the well-being of refugees is a significant issue for multiple compassionate organizations. We are putting great emphasis on the fact that this list of organizations that help refugees is incomplete. Please note that we recognize the importance of the work done by any other NGO that is not mentioned herein.
