When Faith-based Projects Helped Young People

When a natural disaster hits, there is a lot of suffering and pain on the victims caught in the occurrence. The grip of armed conflicts puts young people at great risk including gross violation of human rights. We take pride in serving every compassionate mission worker who is dedicated to alleviating suffering for people in need.

Faith-based projects inspire us

Faith-based organizations provide an environment for young people to develop and thrive, so they can focus on getting back on track and restarting their livelihoods. Listed below are examples of compassionate, faith-based aid provided to help the youth.

World Relief's mission is to empower the local church to serve the most vulnerable, such as refugees. They host safe spaces for refugee children to learn, play and grow after they've arrived in the United States. World Relief assists refugee children by enrolling them in schools. Some local offices and partner churches organize after-school clubs or one-on-one tutoring for students.  In some cases, ongoing help and support may include regular follow-up visits during the first year of resettlement to make sure that refugee children are adjusting well.

In Tanzania, faith-based organizations and the American Psychological Association collaborated to reduce HIV/AIDS infections. Religious NGO's have a positive effect on psychological factors like resilience and rehabilitation. Collaboration between health organizations and mission workers can improve health. Not only in Tanzania has it helped reduce the rates of HIV/AIDS infection, but also in the United States, especially among African American populations. One notable commonality between African and African American cultures is the substantial role that religion plays in both.
