A different type of job

Japan World Jamboree 2015

Raptim Sales & Account representatives Cristina Visca and Domenico Commissio recently assisted several scouts in their journey to the Japan World Jamboree 2015. “It was a long and exhausting experience, nonetheless it was truly an honor and a pleasure to serve the scouts and make sure their trip went as planned,” Cristina recalls.

“A year of hard work resulted in an amazing experience for everyone!”

The 23rd World Scout Jamboree took place in Kirarahama, Yamaguchi in western Japan. With over 33,000 participants, this year’s theme was ‘A Spirit of Unity’. One of the on-site module programs was the Global Development Village (GDV), which attempted to raise global awareness of global issues such as peace, development and human rights. Very different to their usual work, Domenico and Cristina, were highly involved in the coordination of the scouts’ voyages. “At times it was an emotional roller coaster, but I’m very happy we succeeded,” Domenico explains.

“We spent long hours working at the airport assisting the scouts and supporting them where needed,” Cristina recounts. “After a while I could literally recognize every corner to sit, and knew each person who had helped us check in the scouts. Nonetheless, it was so much fun, and especially the scouts’ appreciation was very empowering for us.”

“I’m very thankful to be part of this experience. But the most gratifying moment of this whole experience was when we arrived in Japan, listening to the stories the scouts had to tell, and seeing the smiles on their faces. The theme of unity, harmony, cooperation was visible in all aspects of their journey.”

“I really enjoyed working together with Domenico on this. We supported each other where needed, and applied our expertise in order to serve the needs of the scouts. However, we have to thank our colleagues Maria Gabriella, Carol and Alessandro, who had done a wonderful job arranging everything beforehand. A year of hard work resulted in an amazing experience for everyone!”
