Business Development Manager [Closed]

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development of sales and performance of account management activities within assigned market and territory. Achieve maximum profitability and growth in line with Raptim Humanitarian Travel’s vision and core values. Establishing plans and strategies to expand the NGO customer base in the marketing area and make recommendations on value added solutions while implementing travel program enhancements, and conducting client training.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Create, prospect, qualify and secure new NGO business
  • Continually build relationships within our niche market to ensure a robust sales pipeline
  • Identify potential clients, and key decision makers within the client organization
  • Organize and conduct meetings with client decision makers and stakeholders
  • Continous research of prospective clients and staying abreast of their work and initiatives
  • Plan and execute approaches and pitches.  Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Forecast and meet new business sales targets
  • Creates proposals, RFP responses and presentations
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales within our niche


Account Management/Client Retention

  • Development of a sales & marketing strategy for respective market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate the Washington, DC NGO markets
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with existing clients
  • Attend and represent Raptim Humanitarian Travel at tradeshows/conferences as necessary Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding client feedback and internal issues
  • Assure overall quality of delivery of service and that client expectations are being met
  • Conduct formal sales and educational presentations to clients
  • Present new products and services to add value and enhance existing client relationships
  • Maintains all contact correspondence through our preferred CRM database
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
  • Forecast and meet sales targets
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within our preferred CRM database
  • Stay abreast of clients initiatives and work in the field, solve problems and address issues as they arise
  • Using knowledge of the market and competition, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators
  • Develop and maintain strategic account plans for clients promoting partnership and growth
  • Travel is required


Qualifications and Experiences
:

  • Proven business development skills within the retail TMC or travel market
  • Commitment to Raptim Humanitarian Travel’s mission and core values
  • 2 – 3 years of sales experience in similar role
  • Excellent business writing skills including proposals and response to RFPs
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Sales and strategic planning
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Presentation/public speaking skills
  • Prospecting and closing skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products is required
  • ACT! knowledge a plus
  • Previous experience in travel or NGO/humanitarian business is a plus
